Kitchen cabinetry: compare what is inside the box, not just what is on the door.
The cabinetry quote needs to explain box material, door construction, drawers, hardware, finish, fillers and installation—not simply provide a room total.
What a useful cabinet scope includes

Use drawers for visibility
Deep drawers are often more useful than a low shelf for pots, dishes and pantry items because the contents come forward. Reserve doors for tall or awkward storage, under-sink zones and places where interior space matters more than visibility.
Frame, finish and maintenance
Choose a construction and finish that can tolerate how the kitchen is used. Painted surfaces may need future touchup; wood movement is real; laminates can simplify cleaning. Ask to see a finish sample beside the floor, backsplash and countertop—not in isolation.
